The growing popularity of EIFS has made the cost of renovating an older building very affordable. But don't cut
your project short. Every great project starts with a great design.
Engineering Design

The first cost of an exterior building renovation is the design. There are literally hundreds of EIFS design
features availably; and such, the design is a very important step in the renovation process. Many contractors
feel they are capable of installing an EIFS system, but few can offer a unique and lasting design that accents
the features of the existing building. One should look for a design engineer with at least 5 years of EIFS design
experience and published credentials that prove he or she has invested the time to receive the proper EIFS design
knowledge. Not all engineers or architects have the training to design a proper EIFS system, Covenant Associates
does! We've been in the EIFS business for over 20 years. All of our applicators attend annual EIGS training to
keep them on the edge of the latest EIFS technology. And our management is certified by the American Walls and
Ceiling Industry's "EIFS - Doing it Right" program. No other Eastern Shore company offers the training, knowledge
and expertise that Covenant does.
So, what does this design expertise cost? Depending on the engineering firm you choose, an EIFS design may run
as much as $25,000. However, Covenant offers a complete EIFS design service that enables you to see exactly
what your finished renovation will look like before the first penny is spend on the exterior. Our average EIFS
engineering design is less than $5,000 and if you decide to have us do the renovation, we'll refund that cost from
the cost of the construction.
Application/Construction
The cost of the EIFS construction consists of two parts. First, owners often want to make improvements to their
property such as closing-in or relocating windows and doors before the EIFS system is installed. Awnings may need
to be removed. Water barriers may need to be applied to leaky buildings. Therefore, preparing the building for
the EIFS application is the first cost. And it varies, depending on both needs and desires.
Second, the actual cost of the EIFS system depends on the complexity of the design. However, a general rule of
thumb is $10 per square foot. This will decrease if the design is simply. It may increase if the design is
complex.
Covenant Associates offers a detailed quote system that includes a Scope of Work that outlines all work to be
